Mr. Jim Convery’s Speech at May Garden, Castlemaine

 

"I am Jim Convery. I was President and C.O.O. of Linmark from 1989 to 1996. Prior to that, I was a client of Linmark in Taiwan and Singapore from 1979-1988, when I was the Managing Director of Oxford Industries in Asia.

 

In those roles I dealt primarily with Mr. Jen, who took care of the business side of Linmark in terms of company relationships and business strategy. Mrs. Jen of course took care of Linmark's internal, primarily financial matters. My exposure to her was more limited.

 

During my period as an employee of Linmark I came to realize how important her role was. I had great admiration for the fiscal discipline that she instilled in the company.

 

Together Mr. And Mrs. Jen made a great team. That combination is what made Linmark a success.
