0429 Corrina's letter to Mr. Jen & all alumni,
April 29, 2011
To My Dear Friends at Linmark:
First, I would like to offer special thanks to Andrew and those who worked with him to organize this event. We know that their great enthusiasm and hard work will make the first Linmark global alumni event happen with great success as many former Linmark “children” are coming home to celebrate it all together. I am extremely excited to attend this homecoming and definitely cannot miss it- and I am so looking forward to seeing Mr. Jen and all my Linmark friends. I also thank Mr. Jen for hosting this wonderful reunion, which I’m sure all of us will remember for the rest of our lives.
When I think back to my time at Linmark 38 years ago, it hardly seems like that many years have passed, in fact I still remember my time there as if it were almost yesterday. This certainly speaks to the bond that I felt and I believe the bonds that we all felt for Linmark. Emotionally I still feel like I am part of Linmark and have very strong feeling for my time there. Though I only worked there for 3 years, they created very powerful memories for me that were truly unforgettable; in fact, the most enjoyable time of my entire 35 year career. Mr. Jen was certainly the best leader of any company that I have worked at by a wide margin, and as I pursued my career in the United States, I appreciated that more and more every day.
I look back to my youthful days when I had no experience but so much enthusiasm. Every day was different and full of interesting challenges and I learned so much at Linmark in such a short period of time. For me, Linmark was just like a big family- a second family really, as we seemed to be so happy and excited working together. I think of my Linmark teammates often that included so many; to name only few as my memory could be better (and my apologies to those that I didn’t name)- my dear sister Theresa Chang, Jenny Chao, Alice Chen, Sandy Chen, Stella Ku, Jenny Ma, and Teresa Sun. We were a great group with Shirley Nei as our “captain.”
Also during my time with Linmark, very important life events happened to me as a young woman as I married and had a wonderful son and daughter. After I left Linmark I began a new journey and life in the United States. The fact that these important events happened during my time with Linmark forever wound them together with my family in my memories and my heart. That is why Linmark was such an important part of my life that I carry strongly in my memories all these years.
During these past years I have traveled to Taiwan a few times. My first trip I did visit Mr. and Mrs. Jen; then my second trip they had retired and left Taiwan. As we all know, time flies by so quickly during life’s journey- and I retired in 2005. My retirement is a new chapter in my life, and I really love and enjoy it after working all those years. I really appreciate a simpler life now with no schedule to follow and no long-term goal but to live the fullest life in the present. For me health is the most important priority and my husband and I plan to take many trips as we plan to travel to many places around the world over the next 10 - 15 years, and will take any opportunity to meet friends and families.
During the years after I left Linmark, as with many others, my life has had unexpected changes. I very happily remarried in 2009 due to the grace of God, and my husband Steve and I are enjoying our retirement as Steve retired last year. Only if we could slow time to savior it more, but since we can’t that makes it more important that we enjoy every day and love and appreciate all our families and friends. Steve will happily join with me during the reunion to meet all of you.
Thanks to technology, regardless of where we are, it is so exciting that we will never miss a thing and will always be connected to each other. Please keep in touch and I look forward to seeing everyone very soon.
Very Warmest Regards- and Please Stay Healthy and Safe,
Corrina Chang (金 陵)
Thank you Corrina. You are wonderful to share this heart-felt message with all of us. I'm sure Mr. Jen will be very glad to see you enjoying happy life with Steve and still remembering that you are always one of Linmark family. I hope you don't mind my putting some bold characters to your letter. Stay well and Thanks, Andrew
